Many people believe it is very simple to refill color toners for their printers. However, this is not generally true. To understand this better, first let’s take a look at plain black printing. When we print in black we are not worried about what shade of black or grey the print comes out in, as we still see it as black. Now let’s take color printing. If the colors of the color print do not appear right, the lapse is easily notable. The colors may look washed out, too bright or may even be a diff color than what you wanted. The reason for this is because the human eye is extremely sensitive to diff colors.
So when refilling your color toners, you must make sure that the colors of the refill match the colors of the original color toner. This is defiantly not an easy task because each manufacture takes extra pains to ensure that the colors from each batch are the same and they make certain that there are no variations. This puts the other manufacturers who are trying to match the color of the original a difficult time especially since the colors are patented and closely guarded. The problem arises when the colors of the toner does not match the colors of the refill!
The other point you need to consider is the density of the toner. The original toners are ground very fine. You can look under a microscope and you will see that the genuine toner granules appear spherical and small, where as the other toner will look large and uneven. You must have already guessed that this affects the way the ink flows on the paper. When you use an original color toner, the color looks sharp and is evenly spread, but with the other the ink will leak and bit and the print will not be as crisp. This is particularly a problem in color prints as the colors will bleed onto one another. It will also cause extra wear and tear to the other parts of the printer like the fuser and drums.
For clear sharp prints be sure to use a genuine color toner cartridge for your printer.

If you own a printer, then be sure to spend a lot of money on toner refills. Over the life of your printer you will end up spending more money on the toner refills than the actual printer itself.
There are two parts of a laser printer that you can replace, one is the toner cartridges and the other is the drum. The toner is generally the ink that is used for the paper; the drum on the other hand is a cylindrical metal roller that aids in applying the ink to the paper. A few printers are designed such that the cartridges and drums can be replaced separately, but others have the drum and cartridge designed as one unit. The life of the cartridge is much lesser than the life of the drums. The ink cartridge will last only for a few thousand pages; on the other hand the drums will last for tens of thousands of pages. If the cartridge and drums are designed as one single unit then your printing costs are going to rise significantly. So when you purchase a printer ensure that the two can be replaced separately.
When the toner is low in your laser printer, you will know, with the help of a warning light that appears on the printer panel. You can use the toner for a little longer even after the warning light comes on. All you need to do is remove the cartridge shake it up a bit and then replace it. Shaking the cartridge helps to spread the toner in the cartridge. This way you can use the toner to last you a little longer; at least a few 100 pages more.
If you want the prints just to read for your self, then you can opt for the ‘draft’ option in your computer printer settings. These prints will be suitable to read, but cannot be send out to people.
Previously toner refills were very expensive. The high prices of toner refills led people to resort to other ways to refill the cartridges. Some of the cheaper options were adding oil or other lubricants, however these methods can damage your printer and it is better avoided.

We all use printers are it at office or at home, but very few of us know the role of the printer toner. We only know when and how to change the printer toner cartridge. However, we have no actual knowledge of the functions of the printer. Our knowledge is very limited and we don’t go further to understand the workings of a printer.
A printer toner contains ink; this ink can be in liquid or powder form. It is because of this ink that the documents come printed. Once we give the print command on our computer systems, the printer receives a signal, then the ink and releases all the colors that are necessary to reproduce the document as we see it on the computer screen.
Every printer comes with its own compatible printer toner. Different printers have different toners. Printer toners of all printers cannot be used with one another. The printer toner will need to be changed; this largely depends on the amount of printing jobs that are done. If you print frequently then you will need to change the toner frequently as well. Replacing the printer toner can be bit of an expensive proposal. When we need to change the printer toner we look towards the printer manufacturer. This is because the printer toner specific to your printer will be manufactured by your printer manufacturer. The printer toner will have a serial number or name which will help you to identify your printer toner easily and place the order soon. However, this can be expensive. You also have the option of selecting a generic alternative. This will assure you of good quality that your printer needs but at a lower price.
There are many low quality printer toners that are available at a low price, but low prices do to lawyers have to result in low quality. You need to tread cautiously when selecting an alternative to regular printer toners as low quality printers can damage your printer. When selecting a printer toner take your time and select one that is of good quality and also will help you reduce your printing expenses.

These businesses can also further reduce their printing costs by purchasing the laser toner in bulk to meet their printing needs.
A bulk laser toner consists of the regular toner refills; however, they can purchase a bulk supply of the laser toner. This can be done if you can estimate the amount of toner you will require for a given period of time. This does not necessarily translate to indicate that the quality or the technology used to manufacture the compatible cartridges is less advanced. These cartridges use brand new parts of the cartridges, they do not reuse parts or use recycled parts. The only reason they are sold at a lesser cost is because they are manufactured by third party manufacturers. When using a printer, there may come a time when you are required to change you toner cartridge. You may not necessarily think that the cartridge needs to be changed, so here are a few factors when you need to change your toner cartridge.
1. The printer indicates low toner. This simply means that the printer has reached the full capacity of the toner. However even at this stage you can easily print a few hundred pages without replacing the cartridge.
2. The repetition of similar shortcomings being developed in the pages
3. You can change the toner in both black and white printers and colored printers. However, changing the toner in your colored printer can be a bit difficult and it is better to ring the helpdesk and request a change.
4. The appearance of the prints if withered can also indicate the need to change toner cartridge.
When you need to change the toner cartridge you need to first get the model name of your printer. A printer usually has two names on it; one is the printers name and the other the model name. When changing the toner cartridge it is the model name that you will know which toner cartridge you need to buy. To avoid any further confusion you can provide the manufacturer with the serial number to ensure that you get the appropriate toner cartridge.
To replace tour toner cartridge you need to first purchase the new toner cartridge. When at home, switch off the printer and then remove the tone cover from the printer. Once this is done then you need to remove the old toner from the toner. Take the new toner out of the pack. Then remove the strip from the cartridge. You must take care and ensure that there is a tab which is bound to the plastic strip which is at the side of the cartridge. This strip also needs to be removed, if not done so, and then the printer will print only blank sheets. While doing this make sure that the toner does not spill, in case it does spill wash it off with cold water. Then place the new cartridge in the place of the old one. After which you need to replace the toner cover over it. Then switch the printer on and print a few pages. And there the toner cartridge has been replaced.

One of the most important parts of the printer is the toner cartridge. It is the toner cartridges that are responsible for controlling and holding the ink. So when caring for your printer it is also essential that you care for your toner cartridge so that the printer functions efficiently.
Most laser toner cartridges contain powder toner; this releases the ink that is responsible for creating the prints on the paper. The toner cartridges are generally made of hard plastic. Laser printers have these cartridges installed in the cartridge rack. The Original Equipment Manufacturer also known as OEM cartridges are designed by the printer manufacturers for specific printer models. However, these cartridges only work with the same brand and model.
The compatible toner cartridges, on the other hand are made by third party manufacturers. These are even made with new parts of OEM. These are a great alternative to OEM toner cartridges as they are of the same standard as that of the original cartridges and the best part it’s at a lower price. The compatible cartridges are also made for specific brands so you need to select the right cartridge for your printer.
There are also the remanufactured toner cartridges these are made of recycled cartridge parts that are cleaned and then reused. The remanufactured cartridges are one of the cheapest types of cartridges than you can buy however you will have to compromise on quality. Here as they are already used parts, they may not always provide you with the quality prints that you are accustomed to. Yet they are widely popular as an alternative to OEM cartridges.
So then the big question is which of the toner cartridges you need to choose for your laser printer. Previously the OEM cartridges were the only cartridges that were available in the market. But now there are other less costly alternatives available in the market. Most people nowadays only purchase the compatible and remanufactured cartridges due to the difference in price. Even with the option of other alternative that are lesser in price, it is still advisable to use OEM cartridges in the long run.
