The general practice which people advocate when their print toner cartridges finish is to throw them away. As a result, they incur a huge sum for their printing purposes. This can be done away with to an extent if one studies the various options that are available. For instance, one can get the cartridge refilled instead of throwing it away. Or maybe recycle it and use it again. There are a whole lot of options which can keep the costs from burning a hole in the wallet.
Refilling a print toner cartridge is a simple and easy process which can be accomplished without being messy. Most of the companies manufacture cartridges which are of a very high standard and can be used over and over again. Thus refilling the cartridges and employing them in the printer seems to be the best idea which is cheap as well. The old cartridges used to have a refill cap on the top which could be removed and the toner poured into it. But most of the companies have done away with this to discourage refilling. This helps their sales to a great extent. To counter this, there are many cheap and simple refill kits available in the markets which are used to drill holes in the cartridge.
Most of the refill kits supply a soldering iron which is used to drill the hole through which the toner can be poured. The hole which is created on the cartridge can be sealed with the help of a plastic cap so that the toner doesn’t dry off. This cap can be removes any number of times to refill the cartridge. This is a very safe and ingenious method as there is no chance of damaging anything. No sensitive working parts of the cartridge is touched and so no damage is chanced upon.

Panasonic has been among the top three sellers of fax film ribbons in the world for almost as long as one can remember now. It has always maintained a sense of fierce competition with its main competitors Brother and Sharp. But each of them has been special to the world in their own capacity.
Panasonic fax film ribbons have been known all over for the better quality page yield which they provide. Most of the products from the Panasonic stable have been known to deliver standard outputs leading to the amazing popularity enjoyed by the company. Some of the most well-known products of the company are KX-FA132, KX-FA133, KX-FA135, KX-FA136, and the like.
Most of the Panasonic fax film ribbons are eco-friendly and are bio-degradable substances. This was kept in mind by the great think-tank of the company and accordingly the products were manufactured by adhering to the eco-industry standards. Most of the products of the company are made which can be used with a number of printer models. This sale policy of Panasonic has been helpful in increasing its sales volume in leaps and bounds. Take for instance the KX-FA133/KX-FA134 black thermal ribbon rolls which are quite compatible with a number of printers. One must always remember that the quality of the images is always determined by the paper and ink used for the prints. If one uses a cheap quality photo paper then the images will be of a lower quality. The same goes for the ink used in the cartridges. If the ink used is the compatible or generic ink then the images on the paper generally turn out to be grainy.
The cheapest ink cartridge methods can basically be categorised into three types. Included here are the refilling method, the recycled cartridges method and the usage of compatible or generic cartridges. The first method which has been described here is incidentally the cheapest also. But the back-draw of this method is the fact that also affects the quality of the images the most. In this method, refill ink is used in the empty ink cartridges to print images. This process is also a messy and difficult one. The last nail in the coffin for this method is that most of the newer printers do not use cartridges which can be refilled.
Secondly, the method of recycling ink cartridges also offers a cheaper option than buying new cartridges. The finished cartridges are disassembled, refilled, reassembled and then make their way to the shops where they are sold. This process is costlier than the previous because it involves a lot of labour. But the advantage of this method is the better quality of the images.
Lastly, the method of using compatible or generic cartridges completes the list. This method is less popular as compared to the other two because of the difficulties in reproducing the same. Most of the branded companies have patents on their own products which makes it difficult for third parties to reproduce them. Generally, it all comes down to the printing needs of the user to determine which the cheapest ink cartridge to use is.

Anyone would want to work with something which hasn’t been accorded a degree of hazardousness or have been deemed safe to use by their material safety data sheets or MSDSs as they are more commonly known. This gives us a sense of safety and the feeling of security.
In a similar vein, people would also like their computers and printers to be deemed as safe so that it can be used at home with the children around, with them constituting a larger user base. Take for instance, if one is using a product from the stable of Lexmark, like a laser printer and corresponding supplies, then how can he be sure that they are perfectly safe and non-hazardous for the users at home?
The ideal way to go about this is to search for the MSDSs of the Lexmark laser toner cartridges which are the potential carriers of hazardous substances. This can be a little tricky if one doesn’t know where to start from. If the Lexmark cartridges are being used at the office then the solution is a pretty obvious one. The best person to go to would be the person who has the responsibility of requisitioning supplies. But if one is using the Lexmark laser toner cartridges at home, then the best place to get the required information is the internet. Just logon to the official web site of Lexmark and search for the correct MSDS. Of course, this process can turn out to be a little arduous but the best option would be to use the official site search bar.
The Lexmark cartridges have been tested and found basically non-hazardable. They can potentially worsen respiratory problems if inhaled and should be kept out of reach of children but are otherwise safe.

Oki is one of the leading brands of the world with a devoted customer base in every nook and corner. Over the years it has been producing some of the best laser toner printers and also cartridges for the same. Oki is a name which is linked to quality printers. Most of the products of this brand are machines which are loaded with features. For instance, the Oki C5100 which is one of the newer models of the company is known for the variety of features which it possesses. Its performance makes it one of the fastest machines in that price range thus making it good value for money. The C5100 is able to churn out 12 colour and 20 black and white pages by the minute respectively.
Even though the machines from the Oki stable have been mention-worthy, it has really been the Oki laser toner cartridges that have been able to garner everyone’s attention year after year. With every machine, the standard of the cartridges just seems to top the previous one. In the C5100, there are four sets of laser toner cartridges for four colours. The colours provided are black, magenta, cyan and yellow. The best thing of the Oki laser toner cartridges is that if one of the cartridges finishes, then one doesn’t have to change the entire thing. Just change the offending cartridge and one is good to go. On the downside, the Oki toners are a bit costly as compared to other toners in the market. It has a less churn-out capacity per toner.
The price of the toner cartridges also seems to have been affected largely by the solid ink which is used in them. Touted as the single main reason for the steep pricing, the solid ink heightens it by almost $100.

There are basically two types of printers- the inkjet and the laser. The laser printer is preferred the world over for a plethora of reasons. The category of printers in discussions is more suited for handling tasks of a huge volume. The functional speed of these printers is very fast as compared to their inkjet counterparts. Apart from this, the laser printers are different in the aspect that they use toner cartridges rather than ink cartridges which are used in the inkjet printers.
Laser printers are a bit expensive than the inkjet ones but cover a wider range of functions and are most well-known for the ease of handling. They come in different models and types depending on the cost and functions. For instance, some of the most popular ones include the monochrome, colour and the multi-function models. As compared to the inkjet printers, the only thing that is slightly similar is the resolution which is high definition at 600×600dots per inch - text, 1200×600dpi to 5760×1440dpi – photos. Other than that most of the features of the laser printers are far superior. Take for example, the number of pages that it can churn- a mammoth 20 pages.
The best feature of the laser printers according to many is that there is no smearing of the picture after printing. Unlike inkjet printers which get smudged if one touches when it is wet, laser printers do not have any such problems. The toner cartridge used in these printers also helps to print exceptionally clear photos in which the true colour tunes emerge to the nest of their capabilities. Also, the prints stand the test of time and do not get yellowed. The prints do not fade away even after a long period of time which makes it ideal for printing photographs.
