When do You Need to Change Your LaserJet Toner Cartridge
Having a laser jet printer can be an important advantage. You can print hundreds and even thousands of pages with ease and comfort. The laser printer technology is different as the drum in the laser printer is charged with positive static electricity. Then the drum is burned with the laser beam with the image of the printout. Then the LaserJet toner cartridge gives out the ink and then the image is formed on the laser printer. The toner is also positively charged and the ink is placed on the negatively charged image.
A normal LaserJet toner cartridge will last for couple of thousand pages. If you print darker pages, then your toner cartridge will finish faster. However, if you use your LaserJet printer with a lighter setting, then you should be able to get another thousand pages out of your printer. In most cases, your computer software will have an economic printout setting and it is recommended that you use the economic printout setting for best results.
Once the printouts start to get a faded out look, then it means that the time to change your LaserJet toner cartridge has come. In most LaserJet printers, your “Low Toner” led will also blink. However, even if this led is blinking, you will still have enough toner ink to print out couple of hundred pages.
In some cases, your printouts will look normal; but the page will have abnormalities on it. For example, it may have black lines and dots on your page or you may have distorted images or blotted ink on your print out. These are also signs for you to change the toner, as soon as possible. Never use your toner until it is completely finished, as you may damage the drum in your LaserJet printer.
